Submissions

Black Market Fiction is currently open to submissions for short fiction and feature articles.

For fiction, we're looking for psychological thrillers, dystopian fiction, speculative fiction, and contemporary works featuring characters who refuse to compromise. Stories should be 5,000-30,000 words total, structured in episodes of 1,500-2,500 words each.

Your protagonist should operate outside the system, face impossible choices, and fight for what matters to them. We want fast-paced fiction that evokes emotion and anticipation—stories that respect the reader's intelligence.

Before submitting, please review our Submission Guidelines for formatting requirements and editorial preferences.

For features, we're interested in cultural commentary, investigative essays, and analysis pieces that challenge conventional thinking about storytelling, publishing, and the current cultural landscape.

We're looking for writers who have something substantive to say—pieces that dig deeper than surface-level motivation content or generic genre examinations. Topics might include the state of modern publishing, cultural trends that shape storytelling, or critical analysis of fiction and media.

Articles should typically range from 1,500-3,000 words.
